Link Verification
External links are checked before publication, and periodically afterward. A link is not treated as valid simply because it returns an HTTP 200 response. Several of the links carried over from this site’s original content had been taken over by unrelated businesses, domain parking services, or expired-domain resellers while still returning a normal page. Each external link is checked against what it actually serves, not just whether it loads, and links found to be dead, parked, or repurposed to unrelated content are removed rather than left in place.
Primary Sources
Where content describes a federal statute, this site links and cites the official government text: the U.S. Government Publishing Office (govinfo.gov) or the Office of the Law Revision Counsel (uscode.house.gov), rather than secondary summaries.
No Fabricated Content
Content that cannot be verified is marked as such or removed rather than filled in. This includes historical metrics from the original site, such as reader traffic counts, that were specific to that site’s own tracking and are no longer meaningful today. Rather than carry those figures forward as if current, they have been dropped from the pages that referenced them.
Correcting the Record
Where a past migration or import introduced an error, an out-of-date link, or content that did not belong, it is corrected once found rather than left in place. This is an ongoing process, not a one-time pass.
